  • President: Michael Sharman

Michael has been passionate about men’s work for the past 30 years having been an instigator of both TasMen and it’s annual men’s gathering. He is aware the quality of his life has been improved immeasurably through his connection and work with men in this community.

Michael wants this community (TasMen) to grow exponentially, allowing other men to benefit from their connection with other great men.

Married with 2 adult children, Michael can be found in the waters of the Derwent most mornings enjoying the company of other TasMen blokes, the beautiful coastline and cold water itself. What a way to start a day.

  • Secretary: Ross Adams

I am 60 years old, retired and widowed with two children, Jack (26) and May (23). I live in Kingston Beach with my daughter and part of the time in Mount Stuart with my new partner.

I discovered Tasmen at a difficult time in my life and the community helped me through. I hope to give something back with my time on the Tasmen committee.

I am a nerd who likes board games and computer games, also walking, swimming and bird watching

  • Treasurer: Tim Rockett

I am a father to two boys and love living in Tasmania. Menswork has proved to be a massive benefit to me and I see this as a good opportunity for me to give back to the community.

  • Board member: Alex Head

Until my introduction to TasMen in 2017, menswork was a mystery to me. I’d done some meditation, some thinking about my life, but it was largely a solo journey. An invitation from a friend and mentor to attend a TasMen Mens Gathering turned out to be a life changing invite. I am passionate about this community, this menswork which has positively impacted me, my family and my broader network so deeply. I have joined the TasMen committee with the intention to help promote and grow the menswork community - I’d love all men to have the opportunity to create meaningful, positive and lasting connections that enrich the lives of their families, workplaces and ultimately, our entire community and state.

I’m a happy husband, a proud dad and a solid friend. I love a Saturday morning breathe and swim with my mates, regular sauna and cold water, mountain biking and keeping fit and healthy and generally, really enjoying life!

TasMen acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands on which we live, work and play in lutruwitta (Tasmania), the palawa people, their elders past and present. We thank them for their ongoing custodianship of our wonderful country
