  • President: Cam Stuart

    Hi Men,

I'm Cam Stuart the new President.

I’m passionate about creating spaces where men can put down the armour, speak honestly, and connect with other men in a way that is real, safe and without judgement.

I’m the facilitator of the Howrah Men’s Group, and men’s work has become a really important part of my own journey. Through facilitating the group, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of genuine connection, accountability and vulnerability. I’ve seen what can happen when men have a space where they don’t need to have all the answers, where they can be heard without judgement, and where they can challenge each other with honesty and respect.

As President of TasMen, I want to help build on the strong foundations that have already been laid while also asking the question: Where are we going?

I see an opportunity to deepen the work of TasMen, strengthen the connections between men’s groups across Tasmania, support emerging leaders, and create more opportunities for men to come together in meaningful ways.

Outside of TasMen, I’m a TAFE teacher and enjoy working with people, helping them develop practical skills, confidence and a sense of direction.

Away from work and men’s groups, I love spending time with my three favourite people. I have a real passion for music, and I’m happiest when I can slow things down. Whether that’s building something, sitting around the sauna, getting out into cold water, listening to or playing music, or simply spending time with the people who matter most to me.

I want TasMen to continue to be a place where every man is valued, where vulnerability is met with respect, where accountability is embraced, and where men can challenge themselves and each other to keep growing.

I feel honoured to be able to take on this role and to be surrounded and supported by the group of men on the committee and the wider Tasmen community.

I’ve been involved with TasMen and the Tasmanian Men’s Gathering for well over a decade, and over that time I’ve had a hand in everything from organising gatherings and supporting programs through to serving on the committee.

What keeps me involved is pretty simple — I believe men need good spaces to connect, talk honestly and support one another. I’ve seen how powerful that can be, both for individuals and for the wider community, and I want to help make sure TasMen keeps creating those opportunities for men across Tasmania.

Outside of TasMen, I work in health, safety and wellbeing and live in southern Tasmania with my wife, daughter and our dog.

I attended my first TMG in 2025, and was impressed by the event, the men attending and running the gathering - and inspired to volunteer my time to contribute and support the Tasmen community by joining the Committee. I’ve enjoyed making and maintaining connections through the Huon Valley circle, established out of the TMG 2025 attendees.

Otherwise, I’m usually trying to find a balance in the joys and pressures of family, work, life, and looking after myself.

TasMen acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands on which we live, work and play in lutruwitta (Tasmania), the palawa people, their elders past and present. We thank them for their ongoing custodianship of our wonderful country
